Apollo 15 Unisex T-Shirt The logo design: Three stylized birds, or symbols of flight, representing the Apollo 15 crew, were superimposed over an artist’s concept of the landing site, next to the Hadley Rille at the foot of the Lunar Apennines. To the right of the symbols, was an “XV”, signifying the mission number. Apollo 15's goals included exploring the mountainous Hadley-Apennine region, setting up and activating lunar surface scientific experiments, making engineering evaluations of new Apollo equipment, and conducting lunar orbital experiments and photographic tasks. The mission team met these goals and did so with a bit of style thanks to the first automotive vehicle on the Moon.
